Diagnostic pathology of the urinary system and male genital organs 2024
oktoober 16 - oktoober 18
This postgraduate course deals with diagnostic pathology of the urinary system and male genital organs, which will be held in Linz from 16 to 18 October, 2024. At least 60 cases dealing with a variety of benign and malignant neoplasms and tumor-like lesions of the urogenital tract will be discussed. Several common as well as uncommon tumors of the kidney, the urinary system, prostate, testis, and paratesticular tissue are included. On each day, at least 20 cases will be extensively discussed by an interactive approach (“live” microscopic presentation of the cases). Particular attention will be paid to the diagnostic criteria with systematic analysis of differential diagnoses. Value and limitations of immunohistochemistry and molecular-genetic tools will be demonstrated and critically discussed. A comprehensive review and update of histopathology with discussion of clinical significance of benign and malignant tumors of the urogenital tract will be provided. In addition, several lectures will give an overview on classification and diagnostic issues/problems of implementation of the most recent WHO classification, grading and staging, complementing the case discussions. The participants will have the opportunity to review the digitized cases (virtual microscopy) four weeks prior to and four weeks after the course.
